EGHC Academy coaches and EGHC Junior Coaches work closely together to ensure we build a coherent picture of our hockey enthusiasts as they develop across both Club and Academy. By involving our Academy coaches in Junior practices on Sunday mornings, and by involving Junior Coaches in our Academy, we make sure we build a 360 degree picture of each youngster so we can maximise their enjoyment and development.
EGHC Academy operates at East Grinstead Hockey Club, using some of the best hockey facilities in the country. With excellent changing facilities, a fantastic Edelgrass astro-turf pitch, and an indoor hall, we can provide the best possible hockey experience in terms of enjoyment, performance and safety !
EGHC Academy coaches are from our performance team setup and our junior coaching team. From time to time we welcome guest coaches who bring specialist skills or different approachess. We also regularly welcome performance coaches (including some special guests) to provide Masterclass experiences. Overall we are looking to provide a rich and varied coaching experience engrained in the "EG Way" and with plenty of fun and enjoyment.
The EGHC Academy is not for profit. We are a part of the wider offering provided by East Grinstead Hockey Club and any residuals after coving our costs are invested in the club, our infrastructure and our Academy, to improve the overall offering to our friends and members.

the academy is East Grinstead Hockey Club's hockey academy owned by EGHC and run by EGHC.  Our objective is to deliver the best quality and most fun hockey coaching experience.  All are led by members of EGHC's Mens and Ladies 1st Team squads, Management and Coaching Team, Junior Hockey Coaching staff and Development Officers using techniques and philosophoes core to the way EGHC plays hockey.  Our day camps are designed to bring innovative techniques to maximise both enjoyment and to give hockey enthusiasts the opportunity to simply have fun or to make progress towards their potential - "from EG to GB" !!!

 

The EGHC Academy is part of EGHC and forms the basis of our developing outreach programmes to benefit hockey in our area.  During the member sign-up process for EGHC, each member (7 to 17 years old) is entitled to purchase one BOLT-ON.  A BOLT-ON offers four academy days, pre-paid at £100; a total saving of £40 on the regular member price.  BOLT-ONs will remain available until the end of September each season.

    Nick Catlin of EGHC's Men's 1st Team joins the EGHC Academy coaching team in February. With 185 international appearances including London 2012, Rio 2016, several Euros, World Cup and Commonwealth Games, he will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to EGHC's Official Academy !

  • Day Camp

    Day Camp

    Our standard day camps begin with registration at East Grinstead Hockey Club between 9:00am and 9:30am, with hockey activities beginning at 9:30. We have a break for lunch between 12:00 and 1:00pm and collection and pick-up is between 3:15pm and 3:45pm.

  • Masterclass

    Masterclass

    EGHC Academy will run masterclasses from time to time. Masterclasses can often be shorter than standard day camps, but are led by extremely well known figures from across the game such as triple Olympic goalkeeper Simon Mason, Rio Gold Medalist Laura Unsworth and double Olympian Nick Catlin.
